Cinema “Balkan”

Year:

Location:
Belgrade, Braće Jugovica 16
The “Balkan” cinema, located in the heart of Belgrade at Braće Jugovića 16, was built between 1867 and and 1870. and represents an important cultural monument. For decades, it was the center of cultural and social events in Belgrade, and today it is a symbol of past times and priceless cultural heritage.
Within this project, we carried out complete rough construction works, with the special challenge of preserving the original facade walls along with internal excavation for two additional underground floors. Our firm specializes in restoration and conservation, so we worked so carefully to preserve the authenticity of the exterior appearance of the building while carrying out comprehensive work inside it.
We also performed a complete replacement of the roof structure. First, it was necessary to create a temporary arched roof, which enabled the building to be protected from precipitation and the work to be carried out smoothly. After removing the old roof, we installed a completely new roof structure, which complies with modern standards of safety and functionality.
After finishing the rough construction, we started the restoration of the facade, using materials and techniques that were in line with the original design. This careful approach made it possible to restore the building to its original glory, while meeting all modern technical requirements.
Through this project, we once again demonstrated our expertise and ability to perform the most demanding works on cultural monuments, thereby confirming our position as a leader in the field of conservation and restoration. Our company is recognized for its commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage, and it is with great pleasure that we highlight the success of this project.
